What if…

What if…I could drive a rallycross car by only my instincts. All I know is how to drive smooth, how to brake late and look for grip. I’ll try! These were the thoughts that went through my head before I stepped into RallycrossRX in 2013. And it worked!
I became Rookie of the Year and won the Bronze medal in the European Championship. Now, I’m driving the FIA World Rallycross Championship in the best car I’ve ever had. I’m ready for the challenge, I was born to do this!

“It’s good with some racing drivers like Timmy that don’t feel they have to pull the handbrake all day long.”

Get to know me

My name is Timmy, I was born May 21st 1992 and only six weeks later I were at my first Rallycross race. It was in Höljes, Sweden, the circuit that now hosts my home race of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

”I wanted to become World Champion.”

The beginning both my mom and dad were racing when I was young so I have literally grown up in the paddocks. Together they won 15 European Championships, and I was there for almost every one of them.

For me it all started when I got my first go-kart when I turned four and began racing at the age of nine. I climbed the karting ladder to become Swedish Champion and best privateer in the World Cup in 2008. It wasn’t all easy, I had some tough years, but I made sure to learn from every mistake and step by step becoming a better driver. I had wild dreams, and I aimed high. I wanted to become World Champion.

I raced four years in single seaters on the ladder towards F1. I began in Formula BMW where I finished third in my second year. Thanks to that I qualified as one of twelve drivers worldwide to be part of the FIA Institute Young Driver Excellence Academy. That education gave me the tools I needed to become world-class driver.

My last two years when I drove Formula Renault 2.0 I competed against some of the worlds best drivers of today and I got a few victories and podiums under my belt. It was hard, but I couldn’t have wished for better experience.

It was not until 2012 when I found my way back home to RallycrossRX. At the end of the year I got to try our own Supercar. The feeling I got the first time I stepped on full throttle was outstanding! I tried a European race a week later with a very good result, even I was surprised as I pass the checkered flag in 5th position.

“I was born to do this”

2013 was my first full season in Rallycross and I drove in my parents’ team.
I was fast on the tarmac sections from the start thanks to my years of karting and single seater racing. The gravel was difficult tho, luckily my dad helped me to get the right kind of aggressiveness that you need on the loose surface.
Looking back at this year I’m so proud of what I achieved! I won a race, took four lap records, became Supercar Rookie of the Year and won the bronze medal in the championship.

This year, I finally have the opportunity to fulfill my dream, together with the team that I grew up in. I am now a driver in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. My Peugeot 208WRX is one of the best cars on the grid and the team is the most experienced team in Rallycross history. I was born to do this and if I play my cards right I can become World Champion!
